REDEEMER EPISCOPAL ACADEMY RECEIVES $2,500 PLUM CREEK FOUNDATION GRANT
Eatonton, Ga. -- The Plum Creek Foundation recently awarded $2,500 to Redeemer Episcopal Academy for classroom expansion to meet the demand of increased student enrollment.
“We are grateful to be chosen as Plum Creek Foundation grant recipients,” said Holly Shaifer, board member, Redeemer Episcopal Academy. “The future success of the Lake Oconee area depends on the quality of education made available to the children of Putnam, Greene and Morgan counties.”
In the school’s second year since opening, both the Pre-K4 and Kindergarten classes are at full capacity. And now that the school is expanding to offer fourth grade, more space is needed for their existing student body. The grant funds will be used for two additional classrooms that will be completed in time for the beginning of the 2009-2010 school year.
“Our Foundation believes in supporting the communities where we work and live,” said Jim Rundorff, senior director of land asset management for Plum Creek in Georgia. “We are privileged to be able to invest in the quality of education for area students.”
The mission of the Plum Creek Foundation is to provide philanthropic contributions to support and improve the general welfare of life in the communities that Plum Creek serves. The Foundation board meets quarterly to review applications submitted from organizations in the company’s operating communities.
