Soda Science

Yes, bottles of soda really do erupt when you drop in Mentos candy, first-graders at Redeemer Episcopal Academy discovered during a recent class experiment. Donning lab coats and safety glasses, the first-grade Science Club tested the theory with the help of Redeemer parent Dr. David Bradley, who supervised the geyser experiment. The Science Club program seeks to enhance classroom learning experiences through hands-on science experiments and cooperative projects. Next on the Science Club agenda is the launch of a rocket equipped with a video camera on Jan. 26 to augment the school’s studies of space.
